Romanian king very ill

According to a New York Times dispatch from Vienna,  King Carol of Romania is "seriously ill." 

The king, who is 75 years old, became king of Romania in 1881. 

King Carol and his wife, Queen Elisabeth, have no surviving children.  His heir is his nephew, Crown Prince Ferdinand, son of Prince Leopold of Hohenzollern.

Crown Prince Ferdinand is married to Princess Marie of Edinburgh, a granddaughter of the late Queen Victoria.
