Crown Prince Umberto and Crown Princess Marie Jose of Italy and his sister, Princess Mafalda, the wife of Nazi leader, Prince Philipp of Hesse, were involved in a collision between a motorcycle and their taxicab on the Potsdam highway today, reports the New York Times.

The Crown Prince and Crown Princess have been in Berlin for several weeks, but were incognito.  Accompanied by Princess Mafalda, they decided to travel to Potsdam, traveling by an "ordinary taxicab."

The accident took place on the Potsdam Highway when the taxi hit the motorcycle. It was only after the arrival of the police were the identities of the passengers made known.   They were allowed to continue their journey after the police finished their inquiry.
